Whoa, this feels kinda weird. I don’t think I’ve ever used Fluttershy’s blog before.

ANYWAY. I like Fluttershy because…well, a lot of reasons. It’s kind of complicated. I’ve gotta explain some things about myself first, I think. That way everything’ll make sense to you guys.

I always thought that I had to give my life meaning by proving myself to everypony. I needed to show the world that Rainbow Dash was worthy of respect and admiraton. That was the only way I knew how to be happy. I had to stand up to the bullies, had to win all those races, had to be captain of the weather team, had to join the Wonderbolts. I had to be the best at everything and never lose. And hey, a lot of the time I did end up being pretty awesome at whatever I tried to do! But when I failed—when there was even a CHANCE I’d fail—it just felt like…like my life didn’t have meaning anymore and the whole world was just collapsing around me. How was I supposed to be happy if I couldn’t be a winner?

So I guess after getting so fed up with my failures I kind of created this perfect version of me in my head. The ultimate Rainbow Dash. She was the pony I thought I had to be so I’d never get laughed at ever again. She was fearless and talented and confident and tough as nails and she didn’t let people figure out how she felt because feelings are for losers. And I tried to convince other ponies—and MYSELF—that that was the real Rainbow Dash. I tried to act like her because I thought she was better than the real me. It was all a big lie, sure, but I was more comfortable with living a lie and pretending to be somepony I wasn’t than with being a loser.

But Fluttershy…she saw right through all that. She never saw anything other than the pony I really am deep down inside. The vulerable, self-conscious pegasus who doesn’t always win. The pony who really does care about her friends, even if she’s afraid to admit it sometimes. The real, flawed Rainbow Dash. And she’s always loved the real me, even before things started getting all lovey dovey between us. (Side note: I know you’re reading this so lemme say I meant “lovey dovey” in a nice way, babe! I like the lovey dovey stuff with you a lot, it’s rad.) And she’s just so nice that I’ve never had a reason to hide anything from her. Fluttershy wouldn’t give me a hard time for worrying about losing a race or showing some emotion or whatever. I just feel comfortable being me, you know? I can tell Fluttershy anything and she’ll always have my back, just like I always look out for her no matter what. That’s just how we are.

So anyway, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the pony Fluttershy saw deep down in my heart was actually a pretty rad pony to be. Maybe even better than the fake Rainbow in a couple of ways! So I slowly gave up on acting like that fake Rainbow, and I started being a lot happier all the time.

Eventually I realized that Fluttershy is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And I realized that anypony who loves me so unconditionally and makes me feel so great all the time is the pony I should be spending my life with. And I realized that Fluttershy really needed me too. I wanna make Fluttershy as happy as she’s made me. I wanna be there for her when she really needs me. She deserves it! She’s just…she’s the best, okay. She’s so adorable and a total sweetheart and I love every little thing about her. How could I NOT? She’s so great! She’s…I just…I don’t know what we’d do without each other at this point.

So that’s why I love Fluttershy.

Wow, haha…that’s…I sure did write a lot about my girlfriend just now, huh? I was only gonna write like one paragraph and then all that happened.

((i was going to make this post in character but it’s honestly not worth the effort. okay so ever since i posted episode I of the flutterdash prequel trilogy fluttershy’s been getting some really dumb questions like these))

((on this blog, fluttershy is openly in love with rainbow dash, and i’m not going to write or draw updates with her being attracted to any other ponies. so that pretty much means that my interpretation of fluttershy on this blog is a lesbian, more or less. that’s the label that fits best))

((now, i understand if you don’t care for pony shipping or flutterdash or whatever. everyone has their own opinions and not everyone is into the horse romance as much as me. i understand that. that’s why i still post a bunch of non-shippy things on this blog. and you can blacklist the #flutterdash tag or unfollow this blog or whatever if you don’t like the pairing. i don’t care about that))

((here’s the problem: if you ARE going to read my blog, please please PLEASE stop asking fluttershy if she’s a lesbian. i beg of you. the answer is basically “yes,” and i think that should be pretty obvious at this point. and ESPECIALLY don’t start dragging homophobia into this. i myself am bisexual, so when you send fluttershy messages along the lines of “i don’t like you anymore because you’re a lesbian” (not just because of the the shipping, but because you hate the very THOUGHT of fluttershy liking other girls/identifying as a lesbian and you think less of her because of it) you kind of make me want to puke))

for fluttershy i basically just found the halfway point between her filly and adult appearances

i basically did the same for rainbow dash but then made her more punk rock and also i gave her wonderbolts goggles because i figure her earlier teen years were the peak of her obsession

fluttershy’s like 15 or 16 and rainbow’s like 14 or 15
